Position Overview
The Director of Strategic Planning and Growth is a senior executive responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring the organization’s long-term strategic direction, growth initiatives, market expansion activities, and performance improvement programs. The role ensures that corporate objectives are translated into actionable plans that drive sustainable growth, strengthen organizational competitiveness, and enhance operational effectiveness.

The Director works closely with executive leadership, provincial directors, business development teams, operational units, and external stakeholders to identify opportunities, evaluate market trends, develop growth strategies, and oversee the successful execution of strategic initiatives.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
Strategic Planning
Lead the development, implementation, and periodic review of the organization’s strategic plans.
Translate the organization’s vision, mission, and goals into measurable strategic objectives.
Develop short-term, medium-term, and long-term growth strategies.
Coordinate annual strategic planning exercises across all departments and provinces.
Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor organizational performance.
Prepare strategic reports, forecasts, and recommendations for executive leadership.
Ensure alignment between corporate strategy and operational activities.

Business Growth and Expansion
Identify new business opportunities, emerging markets, and expansion possibilities.
Develop growth frameworks that support revenue generation and organizational sustainability.
Assess market conditions and competitive landscapes to guide expansion decisions.
Lead feasibility studies for new projects, services, products, and geographic expansion.
Develop business cases for strategic investments and growth initiatives.
Recommend innovative approaches to increase market share and organizational impact.
Support the establishment of new provincial operations and market presence.

Market Intelligence and Research
Direct market research and environmental scanning activities.
Monitor industry trends, regulatory developments, and economic conditions.
Analyze competitor activities and benchmark organizational performance.
Identify risks and opportunities affecting strategic objectives.
Provide data-driven insights to support executive decision-making.
Maintain strategic intelligence systems and reporting frameworks.

Performance Management
Develop organizational performance measurement systems.
Monitor progress toward strategic goals and growth targets.
Evaluate departmental and provincial performance against established KPIs.
Prepare executive dashboards and performance reports.
Recommend corrective actions when performance targets are not achieved.
Promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Corporate Development
Lead organizational transformation and growth initiatives.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiency.
Support the development of innovative products, programs, and services.
Drive organizational modernization and digital transformation initiatives.
Coordinate cross-functional strategic projects.
Promote best practices in planning, performance management, and organizational development.

Partnerships and Stakeholder Engagement
Build strategic relationships with government agencies, industry associations, investors, educational institutions, and community organizations.
Support negotiations related to strategic partnerships and collaborative initiatives.
Represent the organization at conferences, industry forums, and stakeholder meetings.
Develop partnership strategies that support organizational growth objectives.
Maintain strong relationships with key external stakeholders.

Financial and Growth Planning
Participate in corporate budgeting and resource allocation processes.
Develop financial projections and growth forecasts.
Evaluate investment opportunities and strategic initiatives.
Monitor return on investment (ROI) for growth programs and projects.
Ensure strategic initiatives contribute to long-term financial sustainability.

Leadership and Governance
Provide strategic advice and recommendations to the Executive Director, President, CEO, or Board of Directors.
Lead and mentor strategic planning, research, and growth teams.
Foster collaboration among departments and provincial offices.
Ensure compliance with corporate governance policies and strategic objectives.
Support organizational decision-making through evidence-based analysis.
